About ArcSteel Technology

ArcSteel Technology is the export-facing brand of Nanyang Shangli Metallurgical Refractory Co., Ltd., a manufacturer of steelmaking auxiliary materials based in Xixia County, Nanyang, Henan Province, China.

Our roots go back further than the company registration. The team behind Shangli entered the metallurgical materials industry in 1998, and spent two decades on technical service and after-sales support across the full range of steelmaking consumables — casting powders, Covering Agents, Exothermic Hot Topping Compounds, Slag Fluidizers, deoxidisers and desulphurisers. That is where our understanding of what actually goes wrong on a casting floor comes from.

The company itself was registered in 2018 with RMB 3 million of capital, focused from the start on Mould Casting Flux and on granular metallurgical materials. In 2021 we commissioned a dedicated granular production line. Granular Covering Agents are a real advance on the traditional powders they replace — free-flowing, far lower in dust, and far more consistent in the way they melt — and they have taken a significant share of the domestic market.

Today we supply steel producers and leading metallurgical materials companies in China. Since 2023 we have also been supplying overseas mills, directly and through international trading partners, in Indonesia, Vietnam, the Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Russia, Uzbekistan and Turkey. Our plant covers 10,000 m² with 83 employees and 30,000 tonnes of annual capacity — with room to take on more volume.

What we sell, in the end, is predictability. A Covering Agent that behaves the same way in the hundredth heat as it did in the first. A Ladle Sand that lets the ladle open without oxygen lancing. An Exothermic Hot Topping Compound that keeps the riser liquid so the pipe ends up in the crop, not in the product.
